The Aquarium

*This is completely fictional. It was a dream that I had about 6 years ago, and I've never forgotten it because it was just so strange. There will be some added details (not like you would know which ones exactly), but all of the main key points were part of the dream. I decided to turn it into a short story because that was the only way I was able to share it with people.* "It's absolutely freezing out here! There's at least a foot of snow on the ground and it just keeps coming down! How are we supposed to get a cab in this mess?" I asked in a whining tone. It was winter in Chicago, and my family and I had decided to take the day off of work and go into the windy city to see the new aquarium that was the buzz of the town. Apparantly, this was going to be a major tourist attraction for our area and we wanted to make sure we got to see it before it made the big headlines. " The worlds largest aquarium, filled with all the exotic creatures of the sea!"- Th...

(Dream No.1)

I dont usually do this sort of thing for people to read, but I was inspired to try something new today, so just roll with it. As most of you know, I am known for having very vivid, and sometimes confusing dreams. The great thing about these dreams, is that they would make interesting short stories, or add-ons to the pop-culture that triggers them. This first dream is one that I had back in November, and was triggered by the AMC show "The Walking Dead". " Just keep running.... you HAVE to keep running! God dammit, why won't my legs move any faster? Just keep running, you have to find something before the sun goes down!" No matter how hard I try, it's all I can think about. The snapping of sticks under my worn out sneakers...... the branches whipping my face as I ran as fast as I could away from the screams that were behind me. I know I should have stayed, but I also know that I wasnt willing to die trying to save someone I didnt even like...... so I just kept...

Nerd Alert!!!

Ok so here's the deal...... i kinda want to go to comic-con convention in August, and here are my 2 reasons why. Norman Reedus and Christopher Lloyd. They'll both be there on Saturday, and everyone knows that Back to the Future is my favorite movie, so why would I want to pass up a photo op with Doc Brown? Norman Reedus (aside from being a total sexpot) is a great actor and happens to be in one of my favorite tv shows.... The Walking Dead. I guess theres a 3rd reason to go..... i love people watching. Thats all I have to say about that. Dont judge me...... or do....... I dont really care.

It's been a good 5 Days......

Well, I am glad to say the past 5 days have actually been pretty decent. It feels good to finally be in a better mood and i hope it lasts a lot longer because I could definitly get used to it. Friday night, Randi and I decided to go bowling at the bowling alley where my brother works. I dont really care much for bowling, but I had a pretty good time. I had a job interview on saturday afternoon that took forever, but im hoping it goes somewhere because I thought the interview went quite well. Yesterday was really low key, but today was good too. My phone kinda shut down last night so i was worried that i would have to replace it, but it turns out that it just needed to be reset. I dodged a bullet there! I also found out last night about a possible trip to Africa this December. I would probably be able to pull it off financially if this job comes through alright, but I am a little worried about the timing. I still want to go in June, and I dont want to be gone for the holidays...... im p...

My New Haircut.

I got a new haircut yesterday. I was a little worried that the style wouldn't look very good on me, but I was pleasantly surprised. I know its just a haircut, but for some reason it feels like so much more. I feel like it's a fresh start. With all that long hair gone, I get to start over. I love it. Deciding to have it cut was the best thing I've done in a while..... sad, isnt it?

The 4th of July.....

The 4th of July has turned into this holiday that I just dont care about anymore. Nothing against the good ole US of A, I just dont have the fun that I used to on this particular holiday anymore! When we were kids, the 4th of July was this awesome day that consisted of getting up early and going to the DP parade (which now sucks major ass). Sometimes the weather would be great..... sunny and hot which meant that we would get there early so our parents could get a nice spot in the grass and us kids would find a spot on the curb so we could run out and grab all the free candy and mini flags that people passed out (or sometimes threw at us). If it was rainy and humid, we would go anyway, and get drenched as we laughed at the marching bands that passed us..... to this day, I think marching bands are the stupidest thing (sorry if any of you were in a marching band). One year it was raining so hard, that the channel 7 news people interviewed us and put us on the news as an example that ...

R.I.P. Dirty Little Garden Lobster.....

Here's a fun story for you. Randi and I were playing Wii bowling in the basement, and my parents came home from dinner with some work people. We go upstairs to say hi and my mom turns to me and asks "Do you know why there is a lobster in our garden?" My first thought was that a neighbor put a ceramic lobster in the dirt as some sort of weird joke... you know, to see how long it took us to notice it or something..... but no. Apparantly there is some sort of REAL (but dead) crustacean on the side of the garage. So naturally, we have to grab the flashlight out of the closet and go investigate. Are they really being serious? Or is this some sort trap that we are going into so they can sneak up on us and scare the crap out of us? No..... sure enough, right by the gate, there is a little 4 inch lobster that is dead on its back. Its covered in dirt..... and a few ants, but its real. I find this kinda funny, because my question is "where the hell did it come from?" I kn...

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things.......

I got to thinking about old memories that I have with friends old and new, and I decided to blog about some of my favorite things. ~I love those perfect clear nights in October when you can wear your jeans, gym shoes and a comfy hooded sweatshirt. They're the best nights to sit around a campfire with your friends. There isnt a care in the world during these hours, and you can talk about anything. Telling jokes, sharing embarassing stories of your past, and drinking beer that is kept in a cooler on the patio. You can look up and see the stars in the sky, and the leaves falling from the trees. Sometimes you have music playing in the background, but on the good nights, you cant even hear it over the roaring laughter. Yes, you'll end the night going to bed with your hair smelling like a campfire, but its so worth it. ~ I love the feeling you get when its Christmas time, and you're being snowed in. Its freezing in your bedroom so you're curled up in your bed with an over-siz...
