Happy 4th of July...... Not.

Today was a little hard to get through for some reason. I think it all kinda started when i woke up and realized that i would have rather been spending the day in Uganda. Ouch. As the day went on, it got even more difficult when some people from my moms work came over for dinner. They were asking me all about the trip, and I showed my pictures to Kristen, and dont get me wrong, I love talking about it and all, but it made me miss it even more. Brenna came over and had dinner with us, and we decided to opt out of seeing fireworks, so we went to a movie instead. As we were leaving the theater, all i could smell in the air was the sulfur from the fireworks....... it smelled like Kampala. God i miss it so much. This sucks so bad.

R.I.P. Dirty Little Garden Lobster.....

Here's a fun story for you. Randi and I were playing Wii bowling in the basement, and my parents came home from dinner with some work people. We go upstairs to say hi and my mom turns to me and asks "Do you know why there is a lobster in our garden?" My first thought was that a neighbor put a ceramic lobster in the dirt as some sort of weird joke... you know, to see how long it took us to notice it or something..... but no. Apparantly there is some sort of REAL (but dead) crustacean on the side of the garage. So naturally, we have to grab the flashlight out of the closet and go investigate. Are they really being serious? Or is this some sort trap that we are going into so they can sneak up on us and scare the crap out of us? I'm trying to blog more often, even if my life isnt as exciting as id like to be. That being said, I'm just going to post some things about myself if I dont have anything else to talk about. Safe Travels....

I wonder if anyone even still reads this or not. Oh well. For those of you who dont know, I was not able to go back to Uganda this summer. (Its really sad and im really upset about it) However, most of the team was able to! Andy, Kevin and Glenna went out there about a week ago and the rest of the team is leaving tonight around 9:30pm. I wish you all safe travels, and most of all, have fun! I want all of you to know that I am already saving for next years trip! I already have about $100! I know, I know, its nowhere near enough, but thats why im starting now. Not being able to go this summer made me realize how much I love it there, and I guess you can say that lit a fire under my ass to get moving!
