Fort Portal

Saturday we spent about 5 hours on a bus to go to Fort Portal. The ride wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, and we are staying at a house that is down the street from the high school. We went on over there after dinner to say hi to the girls that are there because they live there.

Sunday we spent like 4 hours at church (yea i know, not really my kinda party). It wasnt too bad, there was a lot of singing and dancing, it was just a little intense, especially since we were in the front row haha. Afterwards, we visited the school again and talked to the students about all sorts of stuff. It was a nice time and it was great to be able to get to know a lot of them on a personal level.

Today there was a huge black spider in the bedroom when we woke up. Not cool. We went over to the school to start building the chicken coupe and then we painted a couple of rooms. We were able to use some of our extra money to buy medicine that we are going to take over to the clinic on wednesday, and then we got our asses handed to us in a game of soccer against the kids.

I plan on blogging more in detail when i get back just because time on the computer is limited, but thanks to anyone whos reading!!

R.I.P. Dirty Little Garden Lobster.....

Here's a fun story for you. Randi and I were playing Wii bowling in the basement, and my parents came home from dinner with some work people. We go upstairs to say hi and my mom turns to me and asks "Do you know why there is a lobster in our garden?" My first thought was that a neighbor put a ceramic lobster in the dirt as some sort of weird joke... you know, to see how long it took us to notice it or something..... but no. Let's Get To Know Eachother......

I'm trying to blog more often, even if my life isnt as exciting as id like to be. That being said, I'm just going to post some things about myself if I dont have anything else to talk about. Safe Travels....

I wonder if anyone even still reads this or not. Oh well. For those of you who dont know, I was not able to go back to Uganda this summer. (Its really sad and im really upset about it) However, most of the team was able to! Andy, Kevin and Glenna went out there about a week ago and the rest of the team is leaving tonight around 9:30pm. I wish you all safe travels, and most of all, have fun! I want all of you to know that I am already saving for next years trip! I already have about $100! I know, I know, its nowhere near enough, but thats why im starting now. Not being able to go this summer made me realize how much I love it there, and I guess you can say that lit a fire under my ass to get moving!
