Uganda Pictures....... Finally.

The start of our first full day, on our way to Jinja to see the source of the Nile.

I hung my camera out the window....

It was an hour long drive......

We had some time to explore the resort before our boat left.
A butterfly that was literally next to my shoe. Awesome.
Boats.

Adam and Holly on the boat.

The source of the Nile.... see how the water is all swirly? I dont get it, but I took the guide's word.
Timothy pretending to eat a dead crab that was on a rock.
Nelson and Kevin..... they were trying on hats from the tiny gift hut that was on the tiny island.
Some low-priced housing along Lake Victoria.
The pool at the resort.

The drive back to Kampala (before we ran out of gas...... which caused us to get into our second accident of the afternoon)

The bathroom that Jaki and I had in our room. The small blue bucket is what we stood in to shower..... and our toilet had no toilet seat...... but at least we had our own bathroom.

My bed was the one WITHOUT all the crap on it.

Jaki had JUST landed, and discovered that she was in love with her Malaria net. I came out of the bathroom to find her rolling around in it.

I have no idea what this is.

The kids of St. James Primary School. We were presenting to them all the school supplies that were donated to them.......

They were really excited about it.

They ran out to say goodbye to us as we headed to the work site...... I dont think they realized that we were coming back .

Standing on the plateau between the 2 major hills that we were walking up and down all day as we worked.

We came back to the main learning room for lunch.

Jaki.

It looks kinda gross, but it was the most amazing thing I've ever eaten. (the purplish/gray mush is peanut gravy that is covering rice)

After lunch we split up into the classrooms so we could do some art projects with the kids.

Hey buddy.

Even though we were really tired from working all morning, we had to play a full length soccer game. we lost.

Jaki and I sucked at soccer, so we decided to hang out with the kids that werent playing instead.

They really liked to sit in our laps.

But they liked to have their picture taken even more.

This is Brenda.

Holly and Wilson.... The next day, Wilson wore a pink dress.

Adam and Kevin playing with the machetes. We later used them to cut grass that was taller than we were.

A team photo in front of the litrine that we built. (starting on the left) Kevin, Adam, Andy, Holly, Melissa, Jaki, Abdul, Ellen, Drew, and me.

I wanted to bring her home with me. She was very sick and she was by herself....... she was only 2 years old, and we were told not to get too close to her.

A photo with all the kids before we left on the last day at St. James.
I think they were singing and dancing for us.
All 5 of us girls slept in this room at Henry and Idah's house in Fort Portal.
Our alarm clock that roamed around the yard all day.
Since most of the kids at the high school live there, we went to visit them on Sunday, and they greeted us with some traditional tribal dances.
Haha.
The guy in front is Gerald. He invited us to party with him at his grandma's house.
Male bonding time.
For some reason, they really didnt want us girls to play.
So we just heckled them from the sideline instead.

Female bonding time..... plus Kevin.

This was our view from the backyard of the house we were staying at. It was a very clear morning, and we could see the mountains really well.
The work site at the high school..... we were building a chicken coup.
Dig, Dig, Dig.

Jaki taking a break.

back to work.... there werent enough tools for everyone, so the girls ended up painting.

Adam and Jaki on a boda- boda (motorcycle taxi).

We had to go into downtown Fort Portal so we could get the medicine that we needed for the free mobile clinic.

some more of downtown FP.

Jaki burned her leg on the boda that was pictured above..... this was right after it happened. Since they drive so recklessly, you have to tuck your legs in, so they dont get clipped on oncoming cars....... thats what she was doing, and she burned it on the exhaust pipe.

The soccer game against the high schoolers. We got slaughtered. Jaki couldnt play because she had JUST burned her leg.

After the game.

Us girls decided to paint a mural the next day. Jaki started us off.

Then all the guys decided to paint mustaches on eachother.

And then it just turned into everyone painting eachother....we made such a mess.

Holly and Kevin giving me a break from painting the words.

Melissa.

Some progress on the chicken coup.

I meant to take a picture of the heart that was painted on my arm..... but all i can see now is the dirt that was on my hand. Gross.

I dont know HOW it happened, but they all wanted to take a bunch of pictures with us.

.... me and Holly with a couple of the girls.

Jaki and Hope.

I really want to remember what Kevin was saying.... because it must have been funny.

Me and Drew..... he had someone paint a beard on him, instead of a mustache. I told him he looked like a sad hobo clown.

Haha, Jaki and I were goofin around in the yard one night.

On the way to the mobile clinic, we stopped to check out some scenery.

Tea fields.

Adam, Drew, Jaki and myself were dancing witht the kids outside the clinic. We taught them how to do the hokey pokey.

Jaki and Kevin with a couple of the girls.

A group photo in front of the High school's gates.

The finished mural. we had all the kids use their hands to fill in the grass and mountains.

Um.... we're retarded.

..... our shoes.

We were driving alongside a mountain, so we had the best view!

The chicken coup is almost done!

The backyard of the house we were staying at. We ate all of our meals out there and just hung out at night.

.... this stupid cat peed on all of our stuff.

Kevin.

Andy.

Ellen and Holly.

A baboon that was on the side of the road as we were driving by.

300 chicks that we bought to go into the chicken coup that we built.

They were only 2 days old.

awesome view.

I wish I could put a hut like this in my backyard.

A HUGE sign on the side of the road.

Jaki really loved her super huge orange Fanta.

A water buffalo.

A zebra.

2 zebras.

Milton..... he's awesome.

The view from the super steep mountain that we climbed.

we felt like we were in "The Lion King", beacuse we could see "all the land"

Milton and Moses ( our armed tourguide)

A bunch of water buffalo.

a bunch of monkeys.

there were a couple of hippos in this lake..... you just cant see them right now.

a small resteraunt that was right next to the water.

I just really liked this hut.

Me inside the tiny hut that Jaki and I shared that night. I slept in my clothes with my shoes on. We could hear a bunch of animals outside our hut all night, and it was pitch-black because they turn off the power at 10:30pm. We didnt get much sleep that night.

The next morning.... outside of our hut.

All of us eating some lunch after the safari.

We had to stop and get the bus fixed on the way back to Kampala. We were on the bus for 10 hours that day.

Some poverty.

here's the perfect photo that shows the really shitty houses next to the really nice houses. There's no happy medium.

I love the hot pink.

Back in Kampala.... this was the flag thats outside of Herb's apartment.

Red flower.

Jaki's burn....... day 4. So gross.

Outside the mall in Kampala.

We found this new resteraunt on the rooftop so we had a nice lunch. We later went back to watch USA get killed in the world cup..... Thats Andy.

I dont even know why this picture was taken.

Here's a picture of all the stuff that Jaki and I bought. All ofit was purchased for less than $100 American dollers.

This is our last team picture..... right before we left for the airport.

Adam and Kevin..... posing for the prom.

Me and Kevin..... Neither one of us knew that we were smiling like a retard.

The sun setting as we pulled into the Entebbe Airport to go home. Sad.
**There are so many more pictures that I have, but I only was able to get so many from the disc that they were on. I hope you enjoyed looking at them, and thanks for checkin in!**
